Beach, please. I know I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I
like love the beach. Growing up in Jersey, we went down to the shore every Summer (I know, I know, Jersey Shore…#classic), and when I left for college, I ended up picking a school that was, you guessed it – at the beach.
Living in Palm Beach was one of the best decisions I ever ended up making (got a husband out of it, hey!), so when Daniel and I had the chance to go back for the first time in four years for a wedding, I. Was. Pumped. Excited of course to see dear old friends and celebrate a new marriage, but also to return to my favorite former home. And what does a visit to your favorite former home merit? Some ultra Palm Beach outfits, obviously. 😉

Anyone who’s been there (and especially those who have lived there, like myself) will tell you that Palm Beach isn’t just a place, it’s an attitude. It’s a style, in and of itself. It’s elegant, it’s classic, it usually involves a fair share of pastels (can’t even tell you how many pastel pink polos and seersucker blazers I’ve seen over the years), and of course, it’s got a classic beach twist. So what says classic Palm Beach more than a scalloped edge? Prettyyy much nothing.
All this in mind, I knew I wanted a new Palm Beach worthy swimsuit (or two) for our return trip…especially since I essentially lived in my bathing suits during our Florida days. I’m all about a white swimsuit, because it automatically makes me look tan(ner), even when I’m pretty pale like I am here – a black or darker colored bathing suit always makes me look pretty ghostly. Clearly why I opted for the white (although this suit does come in black too if that’s your thing – link below!). I’m also really loving the fact that one-pieces are back, because I’ve always been a fan of showing skin in a less conspicuous way – i.e. your back, as opposed to your stomach or your chest. Plus, one pieces cover your tummy chub! Wins all around.

I’ve been lusting after this Marysia swim bathing suit for pretty much…forever, so when I found this lookalike one on Amazon for less than 20 bucks, I was pretty pumped. I mean, I wasn’t exactly thrilled at the idea of spending 300+ on a bathing suit (tbh, who would be? Beach, please. 😉 ). Besides, I figured it was a pretty low risk buy since they were offering free returns, and honestly I ended up loving it. Let me tell ya – I’m all about investing in a quality piece, but there are some things that are worth investing in far more than others, and for me a bathing suit just isn’t really a piece on par with a good bag or a leather jacket…at least not yet! Maybe if I move back to the ocean someday I’ll feel differently. You never know. 🙂
More FL posts coming your way soon – but for now, I’m off to plan Thanksgiving and get high on Holiday cheer! What are you most excited about for Thanksgiving this year? I can’t wait to hear!
