New York, New York. City that never sleeps, my favorite city in the world, and a place I hope to eventually call home one day. Growing up in rural (South) Jersey, I was close enough to the city that I could visit often enough, but I always wanted to live there as opposed to just visiting. In fact, growing up I would BEG my mom to. Just. Freaking. Move! Can we please get out of the suburbs?! I would go in and out of Philly all the time to get my city fix, but eventually I realized that New York was calling my name – so every time I get the chance to go back and visit, I jump on it. Thank goodness for good friends who let you crash with them for free!
(These have been my go-to earrings for the past few weeks – these exact ones are currently sold out, but I’ve linked to some super similar ones below at the bottom of the post. Keep an eye out for them in the next few weeks…you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of them!)
Hello again! I’ll be keeping today’s post short in the name of procrastination, considering the fact that it’s 11:00 the night before I’m posting this and I’m about 2 seconds from passing out. 😉 Whoops! Sometimes the week just gets away from you…can anyone else relate?!
Now I know that everyone and their mother who writes a blog is posting all about sweater weather, over the knee boots, pumpkin spice lattes, and the like – but I’m wrapping up September over here with one more Summer worthy outfit. Although we finally did experience a weather shift here in Phoenix (and I couldn’t be more pleased…it’s actually not sweltering when I wake up!), it’s definitely still warm enough for some good old satin shorts.
Ah, la vie en rose. Who doesn’t know (and love) that old classic? I may or may not have listened to it the whole time I wrote this post (definitely did). I know that technically “la vie en rose” translates to life in pink, but we’re gonna take the “rose” portion a little more on the literal side today, because let me tell ya – the fact that embroidery has come back in a big way this year has got me pumped. I used to be the queen of all things floral when I worked at Anthro during my college days, and I’m pleased to say that this ever-growing embroidery trend has allowed to find my love for them once again. Embroidery is great because it’s such an easy way to add a special little pop to even the most simple of outfits like mine – and who doesn’t love a little extra something special?
Exhibit A, below. You have what would otherwise be a pretty normal denim jacket – except now there’s a bunch of rose embroidery on it! Automatically cooler? Probably. It goes from a staple to a statement. Same goes for pretty much all of the products I’ve linked to directly below – they’re all pretty standard staple piece across the board, until you factor in the rose appliqué. Now they’re your new favorite go-to pieces to spice up an otherwise bland outfit – see how that works there? 😉
Happy Friday guys! Today’s post is more of a personal one – I hope you’re okay with it. 😉 Daniel and I recently had the chance to do a kind of spontaneous, impromptu lifestyle shoot with a local photographer here in Phoenix (her name is Chelsey Herrera, and she is amazing!), and we decided to jump on the opportunity. While we may not always be the most photogenic or model-esque in front of the camera, we realized it’s been almost 5 years since we actually had any sort of *nice* photos taken together, so we figured that it was kind of long overdue at this point. Seriously – the last time we had professional photos done together was at our wedding…time freakin’ FLIES you guys! Lucky for you, we were able to act like (semi) normal people long enough to document it. Ha!
Hello, hello! Happy Monday everyone – another new week is upon us. I can’t believe we’re almost through September! Everyone is talking about sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes, but we’ve yet to feel any sort of crisp sweater weather here in the desert (although I did go out and buy a bunch of Fall candles last night…gotta find some way to distinguish between seasons! Bless you, autumn wreath candle 😛 ).
I know, I know, another Mexico post – but I swear this is the last one! I’m actually feeling pretty behind as of late, being that I actually just got back from 2 weeks in NYC + Jersey (hence my lack of posting last week…woops!), but I’m still writing about Mexico. When will I finally be caught up with life?! Probably never, right? 😛
Daniel and I took these pictures on our last night in Mexico, right before taking in a beautiful sunset and dinner on the water. This trip was actually pretty short, but so so special and honestly one of our favorites to date. I mean, what’s not to love about eating your weight in shrimp ceviche and piña coladas on the beach everyday?
Hi everyone! It’s hard to believe the month of August is almost over, and that Summer is on it’s last legs (well…maybe not so much in AZ). Where has the time gone?! I’ll be keeping today’s post short and sweet since this morning I am catching an early flight to NYC, but right here and now on the blog it’s still all about Mexico! When we booked this trip it was really last minute, so we were super fortunate to be able to snag an oceanfront room and get to see this beautiful blue water first thing every morning. Now I don’t know about you, but I could definitely get used to it. 😉
